| Nauman A. Chaudhry, M.D. is a vitreoretinal
surgeon and was most recently chief resident at the Bascom
Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami, where he also completed
his medical and surgical retina fellowship. Bascom Palmer
was recently named the best eye hospital in the United States
by U.S. News & World Report.
Dr. Chaudhry received his medical degree from the Aga Khan
University in Pakistan with honor awards in multiple disciplines,
including ophthalmology. He was awarded a scholarship for
pursuing medical education in North America by the Aga Khan
Medical Foundation, Canada. He also had the distinguished
honor of being in the top one percentile for both parts of
the United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE). This written
exam is taken by thousands of American and international medical
doctors every year before starting residency training.
Dr. Chaudhry has authored more than 50 papers and abstracts
in peer-reviewed ophthalmology literature. His research has
included topics in retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy,
age-related macular degeneration, macular holes, ocular trauma,
endophthalmitis and ocular inflammation. He is currently a
co-investigator in two national clinical trials for the treatment
of age-related macular degeneration.
He is board certified in ophthalmology.
