Help
Fight Retinal Disease
Dear Friends,
We do need your help.
Many of you have been very kind in supporting our efforts from
research to patient care. We need your help in the following areas:
1. Patient Care
You can help our low vision patients by providing
rides. Many of our patients with low vision are older
and often alone, with no way to get rides. Or they are too concerned
with burdening others by asking for rides...if you are able to give
occasional rides, please sign up...we and the patient would be most
grateful.
Many of our patients with poor vision are unable to afford the
low vision aids which are prescribed for them. Your donations can
help provide these patients with valuable tools to help them enjoy
some vision.
3. Research
Research is a key role of the foundation. We need your help in
providing ongoing support for the following research areas:
- Retina and Macula Regeneration
- Tissue engineering
- Stem cell research
- Biohybrid therapy
- Gene transfer
- Sporelike cell transplantation
Our goal is to fund a $25,000 grant which is given annually
to the individual leading investigators whose research we support
4. Education.
The need to bring change to physicians involves education. We ask
your help in supporting the many programs that we give throughout
the year for doctors who are in training in eye disease.
5. Volunteers
We will be arranging our first foundation fund-raising in the
spring of this year. We need volunteers to help us put this event
together and help with the event. We would also appreciate names
of friends or family who might like to attend in order to support
the event.
