Welcome
To Our Website
We are five highly trained and experienced vitreo-retinal surgeons,
specializing in the evaluation and treatment of retinal disease
and injury. We offer state-of-the-art care in convenient locations
throughout southern Connecticut. We know that trauma to the retina
and the subsequent remedy can be confusing and possibly frightening
to patients and their loved ones. We have designed this website
to provide patients with as much information as possible about the
various disease states and the available treatments, so you will
feel comfortable with your care.
If you are an eye-care professional, please visit our sections on
research our doctors are doing and new technologies in eye care,
where we will discuss current research protocols and emerging technology
that benefits our patients. The site also contains information about
our education and experience, our practice, and services we offer
such as the Low-Vision Support Group. We invite you to e-mail us
with any questions you have and we promise a timely response.
For Patients
Our staff has a long history of working with patients with visual
difficulties and is always ready to lend a hand, whether it's helping
you to your car, filling out your paperwork, or even pouring you
a cup of coffee before your appointment. Patients are the heart
of our practice so we make sure we take good care of you! If you
will be having surgery, we provide a pre-surgery consultation for
you and a relative or friend where you will receive thorough information
about the procedure and complete instructions for follow-up care.
We encourage you to write down questions you have while at home
and call the office any time if you do not understand something
or need help. We are available 24 hours a day. We know that
getting around can be difficult in the immediate period following
eye surgery, so for patients with special needs we offer post-surgical
house calls by trained medical personnel.
Ophthalmology, in general, and Retina-Vitreous, in particular,
are complex subjects which you should discuss with your eye doctor.
The New England Retina Associates hope that you will find the information
provided on this website helpful and educational, but this information
should not be considered a substitute for professional medical advice.
