Erol Verter, M.D.

Dr. Erol Eri Verter is a dedicated member of our team at New England Retina Associates. He holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Brandeis University. Dr. Verter further pursued his passion for ophthalmology through extensive research at Massachusetts General Hospital before earning his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine.

Following his medical studies, Dr. Verter completed his medical internship at Mt. Auburn Hospital / Harvard Medical School and his ophthalmology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital / Yale School of Medicine. He then specialized in Vitreoretinal Surgery through a fellowship at New England Retina Associates, where he currently serves as an Associate. Dr. Verter is certified by the Board of Ophthalmology, affirming his expertise in the field.

Throughout his career, Dr. Verter has actively contributed to the field of ophthalmology. He has co-written several publications, focusing on advancing knowledge in the field. Notably, he received a grant from the Yale Diabetes Research Center for his study titled "Contrast Sensitivity as an Early Detection for Diabetic Retinopathy," conducted from 2018 to 2020.

Dr. Verter resides in Wilton, Connecticut, with his wife and son. He is an enthusiastic triathlete and has impressively completed multiple triathlons and marathons.
